Police Successfully Uncovers 73 Drug Cases in North Sumatra in the First Two Weeks of 2025

inp.polri.go.id - Medan. The Drug Criminal Investigation Directorate of North Sumatra Regional Police has successfully uncovered 73 drug cases in the first two weeks of 2025.

The Head of North Sumatra Regional Police Public Relations Division, Senior Superintendent Hadi Wahyudi explains that the police have arrested a total of 92 suspects from the cases.

“Which 23 of them are the addicts and 69 of them are the smugglers linked to a drug network,” explains Hadi on Monday (1/13/2025).

Various kinds of evidence secured by the North Sumatra Regional Police during the past week, starting from 547 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 72 ecstasy pills, 178 grams of marijuana, and 15 marijuana plants. 

In addition, there is non-narcotic evidence in the form of 15 motorcycles, 1 car, 22 mobile phones, 19 digital scales, 9 bong smoking devices, and cash amounting to IDR 4,753,000.

"This is the result of solid teamwork between the North Sumatra Regional Police Drug Criminal Investigation Directorate and its ranks in identifying and prosecuting drug offenders. We are committed to continuing to improve supervision and narrowing the scope for dealers to move," he added.

The results of the disclosure always develop according to the dynamics in the field. Police are now continuing the investigation to uncover the drug networks.
