inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto emphasized Indonesia's commitment to strengthening cooperative relations with Peru, as the two countries commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year.
In his remarks, President Prabowo stated that the presence of the President of the Republic of Peru, Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra, at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, marked an important milestone in diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Peru, which will be commemorated on August 12, 2025.
"This visit has special significance, because tomorrow marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Peru," said President Prabowo on Monday (8/11/2025).
Furthermore, President Prabowo stated that this was the second meeting between the two heads of state in the past year.
Previously, the two met during President Prabowo's state visit to Lima, Peru, in November 2024, as part of the APEC forum.
"I am very confident that our cooperation can be enhanced, because we have common interests; we both want to improve the welfare of our people," said President Prabowo.
He added that Indonesia and Peru share similarities as members of the Pacific Ocean community and are members of the developing world.
"Therefore, once again, thank you for your visit, Your Excellency," President Prabowo concluded.
