President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo officially inaugurated Inspector General Marthinus Hukom as the new Head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), succeeding Commissioner General Petrus R. Golose, who reached retirement age on December 1, 2023. The inauguration ceremony, held at the State Palace in Jakarta on Friday morning (8/12/23), adhered to the guidelines set by Presidential Decree Number 182/TPA of 2023, specifying the termination and appointment procedures within the BNN. "In the name of God, I pledge that I will be loyal and obedient to the 1945 Constitution and will faithfully carry out all laws and regulations in the utmost sincerity for my devotion to the nation and the state," Marthinus said, taking the oath guided by President Jokowi. Prior to his new role, Marthinus Hukom served as the Head of the Special Detachment 88 (Densus 88). Notably, he played a key role in the operation to arrest the Bali bomber, Ali Imron. (ar/inp/pr/nm)
