Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo welcomed Xanana Gusmao, Prime Minister (PM) of Democratic Republic of Timor Leste, at the Bogor Presidential Palace, on Friday (26/1/2024). PM Xanana's arrival was greeted by a ceremonial welcome featuring Indonesian traditional attire-clad forces, equestrian units, and the Presidential Security Force (Paspampres) music corps. The welcoming ceremony proceeded with a state ceremony, marked by the national anthems of both countries accompanied by cannon salutes. Following the conclusion of the cannon salutes, the two leaders inspected the honor guard. Both leaders then introduced delegations from their respective countries who were present at the ceremony. The Indonesian delegation included Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, State Secretary Pratikno, Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan, State-Owned Enterprises Minister Erick Thohir, Communication and Informatics Minister Budi Arie Setiadi, Public Works and Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, and the Director-General of Protocol and Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Andy Rachmianto. In a display of camaraderie, President Jokowi invited PM Xanana for a joint photograph and to sign the state guestbook, followed by an engaging discussion on the palace veranda and a symbolic joint tree-planting ceremony. The leaders concluded the event with the joint planting of a merawan tree, after which they returned to the Bogor Palace for a bilateral meeting accompanied by their respective delegations.
