Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar.  The Denpasar District Court has sentenced two Indian men, Gurmej Singh (21) and Ajaypal Singh (21), to 7 years and 6 months in prison each for their involvement in a fatal assault that resulted in the death of the victim, Fitra Robby Firdaus. Chief Judge I Putu Agus Adi Antara declared the two Indian men guilty in the assault case, which occurred at the victim's residence in, South Denpasar, Bali, on 13 May 2023, antaranews.com reported. The sentence was lighter than the demand made by Prosecutor I Made Lovi Pusnawan, who sought a 15-year prison term for each defendant. In response to the verdict, both the defendants and the prosecutors were  yet to decide whether to appeal the ruling. The fatal assault occurred when the two defendants were playing cards at the victim's residence on Tukad Bilok Street, Gang Banteng Number 3, Sanur Kauh, South Denpasar, Bali. The incident unfolded due to a misunderstanding between the victim and the men, leading to a violent attack resulting in the victim's death. Another Indian national named Rajesh Sheen (40) also suffered injuries in the incident. (ar/inp/pr/nm)
