Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs said President Prabowo Subianto has instructed that the country become a “killing ground” for drug traffickers and syndicates.
“Quoting President Prabowo’s directive, he wants Indonesia to be a killing ground or place of eradication for drug lords and networks,” said Lieutenant General Mochamad Hasan, the Secretary of the Ministry, at a press conference on Friday (22/8/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
He stressed that the fight against narcotics is a national mission requiring joint action by the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), police, military, prosecutors, immigration, customs, intelligence, and civil society. Priority measures include intensified raids at borders, prisons, and entertainment venues, cutting supply chains through financial intelligence and cyber surveillance, and considering stricter death penalty enforcement within legal and human rights frameworks.
BNN marked the announcement by destroying 474 kilograms of seized narcotics from 21 cases across Jakarta, Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, and Bali, involving 43 suspects.
