inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Manpower Ministry appeals to the public to be more careful and selective in searching for job opportunity information, particularly those in digital spaces.
According to the Public Relations Bureau Chief of the Ministry Sunardi Manampiar Sinaga, the massive use of digital platforms to search job opportunities has provided opportunities for scammers to do their actions.
“We have asked the public to confirm the information first, either by verifying first through the company websites, social media, or contact,” said Sunardi on Monday (1/13/2025).
He also states that it has also come to the attention of Minister Yassierli in providing complaint service for the people relating to the fake job opportunities while also proactively socializing to the people about the danger of fake job opportunities.
“And if it is necessary, the person who fell victim to the scam can also report the case to the police as it is also a criminal action,” advised Sunardi.
He also stressed the importance of ensuring the credibility of the company offering the job. One indicator is that the recruitment process does not charge any fees to applicants.
"If there are fees charged in the recruitment process, it is almost certainly a fraud," explained Head of Public Relations, Sunardi.
In addition, credibility also of the company and the type of business run by the company also must be confirmed. Make sure that the business does not conflict with the law.
"This is so that we do not get caught up in illegal work such as online gambling practices," said Head of Public Relations Sunardi.
For people who fell victim or find indications of job vacancies fraud, the Ministry of Manpower provides an official complaint channel. Complaints can be submitted through the Ministry of Manpower website or the hotline service at 1500 630.
