Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A joint search and rescue (SAR) team recovered the body of a young child who was attacked by a crocodile while bathing in Bukit Layang Village, Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands, on Sunday morning.
Head of the Pangkalpinang SAR Office, I Made Oka Astawa, confirmed in a written statement on Sunday (12/1/2025) that the victim, identified as a five-year-old girl Cacha, reported missing on Saturday, was found floating lifeless near the site of the incident at 5.20 on Sunday.
“The child was previously attacked by a crocodile. The team has brought her body to the family’s home,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com..
Chaca, a 5-year-old from Bukit Layang Village, was reportedly attacked while bathing with her parents at a reservoir that was once a tin mining site.
