Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. Local authorities, or locally known as Forum Komunikasi Pimpinan Daerah (Forkopimda), in Puncak Jaya, Papua, decided to take preventive and restorative actions following the unrest at Mulia Regional Hospital on 17 July 2024.

A recovery meeting took place at the residence of Puncak Jaya's Secretary, Pagaleme, on 18 July  2024. The meeting included Acting Secretary Yubelina Enumbi,Puncak Jaya Sub-regional Police Chief Superintendent Kuswara, Puncak Jaya Military Commander Lieutenant Colonel Irawan, local officials, community leaders, and families of the victims.

The meeting, facilitated by the Puncak Jaya administration, aimed to mediate between the military and police forces and the victims’ families.

According to Chief Kuswaraf, the meeting reached a peace agreement, and conditions in Puncak Jaya are improving.

The police will increase large-scale patrols in Mulia and conduct raids to prevent future incidents. These measures are intended to maintain public safety and restore order in the region, he said.
