Inp.polri.go.id - Singkawang.  The Singkawang Sub-regional Police arrested a councillor of the Singkawang Legislative Council (DPRD) for allegedly committing sexual harassment against a minor on Sunday (3/11/2024).

"HA was arrested at a residence on Jalan Karya Baru, Pontianak, around 12.30 pm.," confirmed First Inspector Deddi Sitepu, the SIngkawang Police Head of Criminal Investigation, as quoted by antaranews.com.

Upon his arrest, HA cooperated with the authorities. He was taken to Bhayangkara Hospital in Pontianak for a medical evaluation after complaining of chest pain and was found to exhibit vertigo symptoms. Follow-up checks at the hospital, owned by the Indonesian National Police (INP),  confirmed he was in stable condition.

Now accompanied by his lawyer, HA will undergo further investigation. 

The police acted on information from local residents who reported his whereabouts in Pontianak. His family was cooperative during the arrest, and no resistance was encountered.
