Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf, also known as Gus Ipul, expressed his appreciation to the Indonesian National Police (INP) for their swift response to the bombing incident at SMAN 72 Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta. He stated that INP not only focused on law enforcement but also on providing help and support to the victims.
"I also thank the INP Chief and all ranks of the police who have taken concrete steps, both in law enforcement and in providing help to the victims," Gus Ipul told reporters at Cempaka Putih Islamic Hospital, Central Jakarta, Sunday (11/9/2025).
Gus Ipul stated that the presence of the police at the scene and at the hospital demonstrated a strong sense of concern. He added that the police assisted the victims, sent medical personnel and psychologists, and even helped repair school facilities after the explosion.
"Starting with sending doctors, psychologists, and providing support, which all of this is certainly very helpful for the victims. So, I commend the Chief of Police and all of his officers for their swift actions, including the immediate rehabilitation of the mosque at SMA 72," he explained.
In addition to appreciating the role of the police, Gus Ipul also praised the service at the Cempaka Putih Islamic Hospital, which is treating a number of victims. He commended the professionalism of the medical treatment.
"I also want to convey that the service at this hospital is excellent. They handled their victims professionally, and the doctors have shared their duties well. For that, I commend the service at the Cempaka Putih Islamic Hospital," said Gus Ipul.
The bombing occurred on Friday (11/7/2025) during Friday prayers at SMAN 72 Kelapa Gading mosque. A total of 96 people were injured in the incident, with 29 still receiving treatment at the hospital.
