Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  South Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police have confirmed they are handling the bullying case at Binus School Simprug without any external pressure or interference.

The case, involving allegations of bullying at the school, is under investigation despite earlier mediation attempts, according to antaranews.com..

“There is no interference in this case. The investigation is ongoing as reported,” said South Jakarta Police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Nurma Dewi on Tuesday (17/9/2024).

Police have interviewed 18 witnesses and are gathering additional evidence, including video footage and testimonies, to clarify the incident.

The victim, identified as RE, 16, has undergone a medical examination, and the police are awaiting the results. RE’s lawyer, Agustinus Nahak, said that the alleged perpetrators include the child of a high-ranking political party official.

Although Binus School Simprug initially denied any bullying took place, calling the incident a student dispute, the police are continuing with their investigation. The case was officially filed under Police Report Number STTLP/B/331/I/2024.
