Inp.polri.go.id - Sukabumi. Residents of Sukabumi in West Java were startled by an Magnitude 5.3 earthquake on Sunday (15/9/2024), at around 4.54 pm local time.

The earthquake struck at coordinates 7.81°S, 106.55°E, 91 km south of Sukabumi, with a depth of 10 km, according to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).

“The earthquake was surprising for many residents, but there are no reports of damage at this time,” said Medi Abdul Hakim, the Head of Emergency and Logistics at Sukabumi’s Regional Disaster Management Agency, as quoted by antaranews.com.

Authorities continued to monitor the situation, but no significant impacts have been reported as of Sunday evening.
