Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) revealed on Wednesday (16/10/2024) that the suspects involved in a major drug trafficking case in Jambi, led by Helen Dian Krisnawati (HDK), are not connected to the notorious international drug dealer Fredy Pratama.
Senior Superintendent Arie Ardian Rishadi, the Deputy Chief of the INP’s Directorate of the Drug Crime Investigation clarified that this case involves local networks, with the narcotics sourced from Medan.
“This is a local case from Jambi and not part of an international network,” he said, as reported by antaranews.com.
During a press conference, the INP officials announced they are tracing the origins of the drugs and examining whether there is any methamphetamine production in Jambi, although they have found no evidence so far.
Five suspects have been detained, including Helen, who led and managed the operation, and four others with varying roles.
The suspects reportedly operated seven distribution points, selling between 500 to 1,000 grams of methamphetamine weekly, which generated profits of Rp 500 million to Rp 1 billion.
The suspects face serious charges under the narcotics and money laundering laws, with potential sentences ranging from five to twenty years, or life imprisonment.
