Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.   A 16-year-old boy died after jumping from the third floor of the Jakarta Islamic Center (JIC) in Koja, North Jakarta on Thursday afternoon (24/7/2025). 

Authorities said that the teenager, identified as ASH, attempted to flee after being caught stealing copper material from the building, which also functions as the Center for Islamic Study and Development.

“The suspect panicked after being caught stealing and fled. He ran to the third floor and jumped off the building, resulting in his death,” said Koja Police Office Chief Senior Inspector Andry Suharto, as reported by antaranews.com.

ASH and another teen, identified as 15-year-old AAL, were allegedly trying to steal leftover copper from the mosque dome area, which had been damaged in a fire two years earlier. While AAL was restrained by security, ASH managed to jump undetected.

His body was discovered by another cleaner, and later taken to the Bhayangkara Hospital.
