Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander General Agus Subiyanto has confirmed that President Joko Widodo has ordered the formation of a Cyber Force as the fourth branch of the TNI.
"I’ve received the order from the President, and it was also raised during the MPR speech, to establish a TNI Cyber Force," he said on Tuesday (3/9/2024), referring to the People Consultative Assembly.
Commander Agus explained that TNI already has a cyber unit, which heavily relies on human resources. The current plan includes creating a central cyber command at the headquarters and within each branch of the military. Recruitment will prioritize individuals with specific skills, focusing on high school and university graduates.
The Cyber Force will differ from other military branches, with a significant number of civilian personnel. Recruitment will emphasize expertise in cyber operations, as reported by antaranews.com.
