Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Military (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (INP) have mobilized 9,030 personnel to secure the visit of Pope Francis to Jakarta from 3 to 6 September, 2024.
Admiral Agus Hariadi, the Commander of the Joint Defense Area Command I (Pangkogabwilhan I), and and Commissioner General Imam Widodo, the Commander of the INP Mobile Brigade (Brimob), led a troop deployment briefing at TNI Headquarters, on Monday (2/9/2024)
Of the total personnel, 4,300 are from TNI, including Presidential Security Force, Command Garnison I/Jakarta, Cavalry Corps, Air Force, Strategic Intelligence Agency (BAIS), and village personnel (Babinsa). The remaining 4,730 are from the INP, according to antaranews.com.
"The Presidential Security Force will secure Ring 1, where the Pope will be. Other security levels will cover ministers and high officials in Rings 2 and 3,” explained Admiral Hariadi.
Pope Francis is set to arrive at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten, on Tuesday. The joint forces will also oversee the Indonesia International Sustainability Forum (ISF) 2024 at Jakarta Convention Center on 5 and September 2024.
