West Java: Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK) Muhadjir Effendy, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Head of Indonesian National Board for Disaster Management Lt. Gen. Suharyanto and Head of Operation Lt. Gen. Eko Margiyono, monitored the acceleration of acceleration activities. Vaccination is held in all provinces in Indonesia.
They directly observed the vaccination activities held at Taman Safari Indonesia, Bogor, West Java. A total of 1.2 million vaccine doses are targeted in this vaccination acceleration activity.
Thank you to all who have carried out simultaneous vaccination activities today. It was reported that there were approximately 5 thousand points with a minimum target of 1.2 million today. If there is an area, then the target can be exceeded. I give my appreciation. I will follow it until this afternoon, said Sigit when greeting all vaccination activities throughout Indonesia virtually with the Ministers, Thursday (12/23).
In his directive, the former Banten Regional Police Chief asked regions that had not yet reached the 70 percent vaccination target to race towards this target by implementing various acceleration strategies.
On the other hand, Sigit appreciates several regions in Indonesia whose first vaccination achievement has reached 100 percent. Such as, Jakarta, Riau Islands, Yogyakarta, and East Kalimantan.
"Praise to the Lord, our second vaccine, on average, has reached 40 percent nationally. Although this is part of the average for some areas, of course, some are still lacking. Thus, our hope is how then the area which is still below 70 percent, please really be accelerated," said the former Police Chief of Criminal Investigation Agency.
Sigit realized that each region has different challenges and difficulties. However, said Sigit, this can be anticipated by modifying strategies connected to each region.
According to him, the acceleration of vaccination to realize communal immunity as targeted by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is very important in controlling the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, this is also an effort to anticipate the existence of a new variant of Covid-19, namely, Omicron.
"So please, if you haven't, colleagues can ask questions or then make modifications related to the strategy. Because I know, each region has different difficulties. This needs to be done because the new variant of Omicron, the Head of Indonesian National Board for Disaster Management has said that might have been detected," said Sigit.
Sigit further emphasized that the acceleration of vaccination is also an effort to prevent a spike in Covid-19 cases after the 2021 Christmas and 2022 New Year holidays. Therefore, during the Christmas period, Sigit conveyed, he had held a Candle Operation, in which security posts and service posts were prepared.
We set up security posts and service posts to carry out activities to support the vaccination strategy. We prepare vaccine booths, and in the Rest Area, we prepare security posts. At the time of the PeduliLindungi application, we detect people who have not been vaccinated or have only been vaccinated once or confirmed positive. Then, of course, we will provide steps for which we have not been vaccinated. "Then what is confirmed, we will place it in temporary isolation and then follow up whether we take it to a referral hospital or a prepared isolation place," said Sigit.
With this effort, Sigit hopes that in the Christmas period, community activities can run to increase economic growth. Furthermore, on the other hand, the enforcement of health protocols and the control of Covid-19 can run well.
"We still have to be vigilant and keep the pace of Covid-19 under control by strictly enforcing the health service rules, then being strong in accelerating the acceleration of vaccination, and strengthening the 3M and 3T measures. So, it all becomes one part that we have to carry out in Christmas and new year operations this time. Please pray for this series to run smoothly. Then, the community can carry out activities on one side of the Covid-19 rate. We can control its growth," said Sigit.
