Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Tourism has summoned promoter Mecimapro following the chaotic South Korean band’s DAY6 concert in Jakarta earlier in May.
“Event organization is a key part of tourism development,” said Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana on Thursday (8/5/2025). “We’re committed to building a strong, responsible event ecosystem that benefits everyone involved.”
In the meeting, which included the Ministry of Creative Economy and the Indonesian Music Promoters Association (APMI), the tourism ministry questioned Mecimapro to gather details on the disruptions, which included overcrowding and poor crowd management.
Deputy Minister Vinsensius Jemadu stressed the need for accurate information to identify problems and find solutions.
“We will ensure this process respects all parties’ rights and responsibilities while raising event standards,” Vinsensius said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The ministry also pledged support for promoters through training and assistance to improve infrastructure, facilities, and audience services.
Both Mecimapro and DAY6’s agency, JYP Entertainment, have issued public apologies following the backlash from fans.
