Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar.  Karangasem Sub-regional Police suspected that the death of the U.S tourist at Villa Kajane Beach, Baturinggit, Kubu, Karangasem, Bali, on 10 August 2024, was due to drowning during water activities.

First Inspector I Gede Sukadana, the Karangasem Head of Public Relations, confirmed on Monday (12/8/2024) that his body of the tourist, identified as Sebastiano (23). was discovered at around 3.20 pm local time. Snorkeling gear and a diving mask were found at the scene.

He had been staying nearby and reportedly left without informing the hotel staff, according to antaranews.com.

Staff at the villa noticed his absence and conducted a search along the beach. They found him face down and, after turning him over, recognized him as one of their guests.

Local workers attempted CPR, but he showed no signs of life. Medical personnel from Kubu Husada Clinic arrived, confirmed his death, and found no signs of trauma. His body was later transported to Karangasem General Hospital. 

The investigation continues to determine the exact cause of death.
