Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar extended greetings for the Vesak Day to Buddhists across Indonesia, calling it a sacred moment to sow virtue and promote world peace.
“Waisak commemorates three major events in the life of Gautama Buddha. The values it upholds—self-control, wisdom, and peace—are deeply relevant across faiths and cultures,” said the Minister during celebrations at Ekayana Arama Monastery in Jakarta on Monday (12/5/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
This year’s national theme, “Enhance Self-Control and Wisdom to Achieve World Peace,” underscores the call for unity and interfaith harmony.
The Minister praised Vesak-related activities—such as the Thudong spiritual walk, social service, environmental preservation, and Dhamma study—as enriching the celebration and strengthening interfaith solidarity.
