A total of 240 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) participated in the 21st National Sport Week (PON) Expo Aceh-North Sumatra 2024 at Blang Padang Field, Banda Aceh. This expo will take place from September 10-18, 2024 and provide an opportunity for various authentic local products of Aceh such as various culinary delights, songkok crafts, to bamboo weaving, to be better known to the wider community.

Acting Regional Secretary of Aceh Azwardi, who officially opened the event on Tuesday (9/10/2024) evening, believes that PON Expo XXI is an important momentum for the Aceh MSME sector.

"PON Expo XXI 2024 Aceh-North Sumatra is part of a strategic effort to advance the Aceh MSME sector. We want to ensure that local products get wider exposure and appreciation," said Azwardi.

He said that the Aceh Government has formulated various policies to support MSMEs, including in terms of access to financing, increasing skills capacity, promotion, and product marketing.

"We create a conducive business climate and provide promotional facilities such as this expo, so that MSMEs can grow stronger and more sustainably," he added.

On that occasion, Azwardi also emphasized the importance of the four pillars of success of PON XXI, namely successful implementation, achievements, administration, and people's economy. The PON event, according to him, is expected to increase sales of MSME products because visitors can buy directly from producers.

Azwardi also invited the people of Aceh to participate in supporting PON XXI and enliven the PON Expo. "This activity reflects our spirit in advancing local industry. Let's make PON XXI a celebration of sportsmanship, unity, and diversity." concludes Azwardi.
