Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Deputy Minister of Manpower Immanuel “Noel” Ebenezer Gerungan announced that 58,000 job opportunities will soon be available, deemed a positive sign amid recent factory closures in Indonesia.
Of these, 10,000 positions will be at PT Ultimate Noble Indonesia’s new factory, while an additional 48,000 will come from two major companies. Chinese automaker BYD is building a plant in Subang, West Java, set to employ 18,000 workers, and Huawei Technologies will create 30,000 jobs through a new facility.
Deputy Minister Noel acknowledged the recent shutdown of several companies, leading to significant layoffs. He welcomed the rehiring of former PT Sritex employees and urged PT Noble Indonesia to prioritize ex-PT Danbi International workers after the company's bankruptcy.
PT Noble Indonesia currently employs 1,100 workers, expanding to 4,000 soon, with a long-term target of 10,000.
