Inp.polri.go.id - Pontianak. West Kalimantan Regional Police have mobilized 6,421 officers across the province to secure the 2024 local elections.

"This extensive and thorough security effort aims to ensure the election process is conducted safely, orderly, and without disruptions," said West Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector General Pipit Rismanto during the Mantap Praja Force Readiness Parade in Pontianak on Monday (26/8/2024).

The election security involves not just the police but also other stakeholders including the Indonesian Military (TNI), the integrated law enforcement (Gakkumdu), Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu), and other agencies.

"We're not working alone. All stakeholders are involved to ensure the election runs smoothly and safely," Chief Pipit noted.

The parade was held to anticipate and minimize potential conflicts and security issues during the elections. In addition to the 6,421 police personnel, the military will be involved as needed to bolster security and ensure all election stages proceed effectively.

Chief Pipit emphasized preparation to address any social dynamics, especially in areas previously considered vulnerable, such as the Pontianak-Kubu Raya border and other districts.

"This parade ensures all personnel are prepared and strengthens inter-agency collaboration to face potential challenges during the election," he added.
