Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Hadi Tjahjanto has urged intelligence agencies to operate around the clock to prevent disruptions during the 2024 local elections.
"I repeatedly emphasize to intelligence personnel that our security forces are spread thin across regions, so intelligence must work 24/7 to anticipate and prevent any disturbances," he said on Monday (26/8/2024), referring to the Indonesian Military and the Indonesian National Police.
Minister Hadi also stressed the need for police to ensure security throughout the elections, highlighting that even minor vulnerabilities must be addressed.
"If intelligence agencies have a firm grasp of their areas, they can effectively counteract predictions and mapping issued by Bawaslu and the police," he added.
Minister Hadi assured that continuous coordination will be in place to ensure security during the elections, underscoring the importance of maintaining political, legal, and security stability.
