A Teenager Was Secured by the Police after Molesting a Minor

inp.polri.go.id -  An Adolescent Got Arrested by the Criminal and Investigation Unit of Kapuas Resort Police for Allegedly Having Sexual Relations with Minors. The Kapuas Resort Police have arrested a 17-year-old adolescent who is suspected of committing a crime of sexual intercourse with a girl who was underage and fled without the permission of her parents or guardian. Following a report from the victim's family, the officers went to arrest the criminal at his home in one of the Bataguh Sub-District, Kapuas Regency's villages/hamlets. "Yes, we have arrested the suspected perpetrator, and an investigation will be conducted at the Resort Police's Women's and Children's Service Unit and the Criminal Investigation Unit for further proceedings," said Chief of the Police Resort Police Grand Commissioner Adjutant Qori Wicaksono., S.I.K., through the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit, First Police Inspector, Iyudi Hartanto, S.T.K., S.I.K. The Head of the Kapuas Resort Police's Criminal and Investigation Unit revealed that the event occurred on Wednesday, October 12th 2022, at about 05.00 WIB, when the complainant or victim's parent checked into the victim's room and was astonished to realise that her kid was no longer in her room. After discovering this, he and his wife attempted to locate their child in the village area but were unsuccessful. "The complainant then learned from various locals that his kid was involved with the criminal," he stated. The complainant immediately went to the perpetrator's parents to seek an explanation and assistance so that they could both search for their kid's whereabouts, but the perpetrator's parents refused and stated that it was impossible for their child (perpetrator) to run away from the victim. "After hearing the rejection reaction from the perpetrator's parents, the complainant called for assistance from emergency volunteers to distribute information about the disappearance of the reporting kid," he stated. The volunteer informed the complainant that his son and the perpetrator were now in the Astambul District, South Kalimantan, and had been apprehended by the Astambul Sectoral Police, Banjar Resort Police, and South Kalimantan Regional Police. The complainant then contacted the perpetrator's parents to demand accountability for their child's acts, but the perpetrator's parents showed no intention or good faith. "With regard to this occurrence, the complainant complained and reported it to the Kapuas Resort Police for further investigation," said the Head of the Kapuas Resort Police Criminal and Investigation Unit. Perpetrators will be subject to Article 81 paragraph 2 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 17 of 2016 on the stipulation of a Government Regulation in lieu of Law No. 1 of 2016 on the second amendment to Law No. 23 of 2002 on child protection. And for fleeing with minor girls without the approval of their parents or guardians, as defined in Criminal Code Article 332.
