Jakarta - Indonesian Military (TNI) and Indonesian National Police (INP) personnel has been mobilized to every point in the area which has experienced flooding in the last two days. They were assigned to help residents who were victims of the incident. "Surely thousands of TNI-INP personnel have been deployed to help residents who experience floods," said The Head of Public Relations Division of INP Police, Inspector General Argo Yuwono, in his statement, Jakarta, Sunday (21/2/2021). According to Argo, the TNI-INP personnel assisted in evacuating residents, built emergency posts and kitchens, and supervised the implementation of standard health protocols when floods hit. In handling floods in the jurisdiction of DKI Jakarta, Argo explained that Metro Jaya Regional Police deployed 2,556 personnel assisted by Mobile Brigade Police Headquarters 20 personnel. "The TNI-INP personnel is a reflection of the presence of the State in helping residents who are victims of the floods," said Argo. Besides, because the flood occurred in the middle of the Coronavirus Pandemic, the Covid-19 corpse handling team also continued to work to provide full service. Even amid a disaster, the team braved the floodwaters using a rubber boat, following a narrow alleyway to handle Coronavirus victims' bodies.
