Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Attorney General's Office confirmed  the arrest of Gregorius Ronald Tannur, the defendant in the murder case of Dini Sera Afriyanti, on Sunday (27/10/2024) in Surabaya, East Java. 

He was arrested at 2.40 pm local time at the Victoria Regency housing complex, according to Harli Siregar, the Attorney General’s Office Head of Legal Information Center. 

"Ronald Tannur was arrested this afternoon in Surabaya," he said, as quoted by antaranews.com..

The arrest followed cooperation between the East Java High Prosecutor's Office and the Surabaya Prosecutor's Office. It was conducted in compliance with a Supreme Court ruling which overturned an earlier acquittal, sentencing Ronald to five years in prison for the murder.

Previously, the Surabaya District Court had acquitted Ronald, who is the son of former lawmaker Edward Tannur. 

The ruling was appealed, and the Supreme Court found Ronald guilty under Article 351(3) of the Criminal Code.
