Bali Police Implements Operation Sikat Agung for World Water Forum

Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. The Bali Regional Police is set to implement Operation Sikat Agung to maintain public order for the upcoming World Water Forum..

Held from April 25 to May 10, 2024, the operation is part of the Bali Police's strategy to maintain public order and security.  It has so far resulted in 136 arrests and the display of evidence, aiming to curb crime ahead of the forum in Nusa Dua, Bali, according to antaranews.com. 

Senior Superintendent Soelistijono stressed on Saturday (11/5/2024) the importance of ensuring a safe environment for the event, which will convene 30,000 participants from 172 countries to address water-related issues under the theme "Water for Shared Prosperity" from May 18-25, 2024. 

The operation, a response to increased disturbances in Bali, targeted theft and robbery suspects. 

In preparation for the forum, security measures have been intensified, including collaboration with other agencies, enhanced patrols and targeted operations.
