Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) conducted intelligence operations in Bali and neighboring West Nusa Tenggara and East Java to anticipate the 10th World Water Forum.

Head of the Legal, Public Relations, and Information Technology Section of BNPT, Lieutenant Colonel Tjandra Sulistiyono on Saturday (11/5/2024).  explained BNPT's proactive measures, including cyber patrols on social media platforms to preemptively address any threats that could disrupt the World Water Forum.

BNPT also organized Intelligence Community Coordination Meetings (Rakor) to anticipate terrorist activities. They also focused on reintegrating former terrorism prisoners into society through community-building initiatives.

Chief Tjandra outlined four key objectives of these operations: identifying deradicalization targets, providing religious and national education, supporting entrepreneurship, and monitoring the social and ideological aspects of the targets.

BNPT's role as a key security and health committee member is mandated by Presidential Decree Number 13 of 2024 to ensure the safety of the World Water Forum participants.

The forum, themed "Water for Shared Prosperity," will take place in Bali from 18-25 May 2024.
