Inp.polri.go.id - Vientiane. Balikpapan, the vibrant city in East Kalimantan, was honored with the prestigious ASEAN Clean Tourist City Award during the recently concluded 2024 ASEAN Tourism Awards in Vientiane, Laos.
"The ASEAN Clean Tourist City Award is a testament to the dedication and hard work of everyone involved in maintaining the cleanliness and environmental sustainability of our tourism sector," said Ririn Sari Dewi, the Acting Head of the East Kalimantan Tourism Office, on Wednesday (31/1/2024)
The ASEAN Tourism Awards, an initiative among ASEAN member states, aimed to acknowledge the exceptional contributions of tourism stakeholders in crafting outstanding and high-quality tourist destinations.
Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, reflected on the achievement, saying, "This accolade further solidifies Indonesia's dynamic and culturally rich reputation, making it a top choice in the ASEAN region."
Ratih Kusuma, the Acting Head of . Balikpapan's Department of Youth, Sports, and Tourism conveyed her pride and gratitude to the local community for their integral role in securing the ASEAN Clean Tourist City Award.
