inp.polri.go.id – The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts the peak of the rainy season in some parts of Indonesia to occur in December 2022 to January 2023. Head of BMKG Dwikorita Karnawati explained, out of a total of 699 seasonal zones in Indonesia, as many as 175 seasonal zones will enter the rainy season in October 2022. The area covers parts of Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Bali, Nusa Tenggara, Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua. Meanwhile, as many as 128 seasonal zones) will enter the rainy season in November 2022. The regions include Sumatra, Java, Bali, Nusa Tenggara, Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua. Currently, there are 60 seasonal zones that have experienced the rainy season covering southern Riau, parts of South Sumatra, southern Bengkulu, southern West Java, southern part of West Kalimantan, eastern part of Central Kalimantan, southern part of South Kalimantan, northern part of Southwest Sulawesi, northern part of North Maluku, some part of Maluku, and some part of Papua. Dwikorita also added there are 113 seasonal zones who experienced rainy season throughout this year,” he said in Jakarta, Friday (10/7). Meanwhile, she continued, the weather forecast for October 8th and 9th in Sumatra is generally sunny, cloudy to light rain, but parts of North Sumatra, Bangka Belitung Islands, Bengkulu, and Lampung have the potential for light to moderate rain while Aceh has the potential for moderate to heavy rain. In general, Java is going to have a cloudy to light rain, but parts of Banten and DKI Jakarta have the potential for light to moderate rain, while parts of West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, and East Java have the potential for moderate to heavy rain. β€œFor the Kalimantan area, in general, there will be a moderate to heavy rain, same goes to Sulawesi. Then Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, and East Nusa Tenggara are generally sunny, cloudy, to light rain, but parts of Bali and West Nusa Tenggara have the potential for light to moderate rain. In the eastern part of Indonesia, in general, Maluku and Papua have light to moderate rain, but parts of Maluku, West Papua, and Papua have the potential for moderate to heavy rain,” she explained.
