Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Commander of the Armed Forces, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, and the Chief of Indonesian National Police, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, visited mass vaccination event at the THOR Stadium, Surabaya, East Java, on Friday (15/10/2021). During this event, there are also simultaneous vaccination events at 39 Departmental Police Headquarters under the East Java Regional Police. In his opening statement, the Chief of Indonesian National Police appreciated the Regional Leaders Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) of East Java, either on provincial or regency/municipal levels, on the vaccination acceleration. During the occasion, the Chief of the Indonesian National Police also virtually greeted several regions related to Coronavirus handling and vaccination acceleration. From the report he received, East Java has achieved the target numerous times and even has increased its vaccination achievement. "This has to be improved so that the two million vaccination per day target set by the President could be achieved and 70% of the population being vaccinated to form herd immunity", Chief of Indonesian National Police said. In this context, East Java has reached a 50% vaccination rate. Even in Banyuwangi, Sigit received reports of a 60% vaccination rate. "For regions with low vaccination rate, there should be an improvement of strategies such as mass vaccination until reaching the unreachable communities through mobile and door-to-door methods", Chief of Indonesian National Police said. By high vaccination rate, Sigit saw several regions in East Java experience their PPKM (Community Activity Restrictions Enforcement) level to be downgraded. Even Blitar becomes the role model of Level 1 PPKM. On the downgrade of PPKM level, the Chief of Indonesian National Police reminded the Forkopimda to keep pushing back Covid-19 growth because the level downgrade affected the relaxation of public activities that potentially became the Covid-19 transmission. "This becomes our attention because, when the public activity increases, the Covid-19 growth could be controlled and the strategies on how to enforce Health Protocols and the improvement of vaccination programme so that 70% vaccination rate could be achieved", Chief of Indonesian National Police said. Former Chief of Criminal Investigation Agency of Indonesian National Police also asked Forkopimda to observe public activity and crowd by having the PeduliLindungi application to observe public activity to push down Covid-19 growth. "All public activities to be monitored so unvaccinated, vaccinated, and close contact people could be recognised, and further actions could be conducted such as quarantining before continuing to further treatment whether centralised isolation or hospital", Chief of Indonesian National Police continued. With three strategies from Health Protocols enforcement, vaccination acceleration, and 3T improvement, the former Chief of Banten Regional Police believed that Covid-19 transmission could be controlled. "Thank you to all Forkopimda of provinces such as governor, commander of the military district, and chief of regional police who always being solid and cohesive. This becomes an example for other regions to do the same. I wish the vaccination target could be achieved", Chief of Indonesian National Police said. During this vaccination event, 71,848 vaccine doses are administered and targeted older adults, people with disabilities, students, college students, and the general public. The vaccine used are Sinovac and AstraZeneca. 1,795 vaccinators are deployed from the Armed Forces-Police, Health Agency, and volunteers. Besides, the Commander of the Armed Forces and Chief Indonesian National Police also inspected Covid-19 vaccination in Terminal 2 of Juanda International Airport, Sidoarjo regency, East Java. The Covid-19 vaccination is an initiative from the Naval Aviation Centre, in cooperation with the Indonesian National Police and Hangtuah Health High School of Surabaya with 2,000 doses
