Vice President Ma'ruf Amin called for public support in developing a knowledgeable and technologically (IPTEK) advanced human resource during the International Conference on 'Religion, Peace, and Civilization' held by the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) in Jakarta on Monday (May 22, 2023).

"It is important to cultivate human resources who hold the key to civilization, particularly those who excel in knowledge and technology," he said. By doing so, Indonesia can aspire to become an advanced nation that not only prioritizes national interests but also significantly contributes to global peace and the advancement of civilization, he continued.

He stated that the foundation of building civilization lies in recognizing and fulfilling the human role on Earth, which entails the responsibility to manage and develop both the Earth and its civilization.

"In embracing the role of 'representatives of Allah' entrusted with the divine mandate, we are called to strengthen one another (tasanud) rather than succumbing to hostility (ta'anud)," the Vice President stated.

In his closing remarks, he stressed the importance of fostering harmony and preventing discord. "Humanity shares a common dwelling on this Earth (fii ardhin wahidin)," he concluded.
