Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Nusantara Cooling System (NCS) team of the Indonesian National Police (INP)has urged local police chiefs in Lampung to enhance "cooling system" activities ahead of the 2024 regional elections, as the province is considered high-risk.

"The 2024 Election Vulnerability Index indicates Lampung, East Java, Central Sulawesi, and Papua as high-risk regions," said Brigadier General Yuyun Yudhantara, the NCS Deputy Chief of Operations, on Thursday (19/9/2024).

He said that Lampung's vulnerability is assessed based on seven dimensions, including security, election participants, and potential threats, according to antaranews.com.

The NCS initiative emphasizes preventive and preemptive actions using humanistic and persuasive approaches. 

Several past conflicts in Lampung, such as political unrest during the 2018 elections, were cited as examples that should be addressed before the upcoming vote.

Yuyun stressed the importance of maximizing these measures to ensure the elections proceed peacefully and securely.
