Inp.polri.go.id - Kuala Kapuas. Residents of Sei Ahas Village in the Mantangai District of Kapuas Regency, Central Kalimantan, were startled by the discovery of a human skull in the local forest, believed to belong to a student from Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, who went missing in May 2024.

"Please be patient; we are still in the forest heading towards the crime scene," said Mentangai Police Police Chief Assistant Senior Inspector Untung Basuki on Saturday night (12/10/2024), as quoted by antaranews.com.

The skull was found lying face-up by locals who were clearing a path in the reforestation area of PT. Asmin in Sei Ahas Village around 7.45 am on Saturday morning.

The remains were suspected to be those of Aditya Dharma Santosa, a ULM Banjarmasin student who has been missing since 2 May 2024. When discovered, the skull was wearing a red t-shirt and jeans similar to what Aditya was reported to have been wearing when he went missing in the forest. Several personal items found near the site also matched those belonging to the student.

Previously, Aditya Dharma Santosa was reported missing after conducting geotagging activities in Sei Ahas Village.

Search efforts were conducted but these efforts proved unsuccessful until the search was eventually called off.
