inp.polri.go.id - South Sumatra. The South Sumatra Regional Police Special Criminal Investigation Directorate successfully raided an illegal fuel oil warehouse in Muara Enim.
The silent raid was carried out by the joint force of South Sumatra Regional Police and Muara Enim Sub-regional Police Special Criminal Investigation Directorate.
The raid was carried out on Friday (12/20/2024) where police personnel found thirty 1,000 liter capacity tanks filled with fuel and three tanker trucks that had been modified to transport fuel.
The Sub-Head Directorate of South Sumatra Regional Police Special Criminal Investigation Law Enforcement, Superintendent Wiwin Junianto says the finding is shocking as the warehouse is not far from the gas station.
“They do it really well in hiding their illegal operation, but thanks to the public information, their illegal practice has been uncovered,” says Wiwin.
The warehouse is suspected of being owned by the land owner with the initials JH, a local villager, in addition to causing losses to the state because of tax avoidance, illegal fuel also has the potential to cause fire hazards and threaten the environment.
"We will continue the investigation to uncover whether there is a network behind this case," he explained.
As for the perpetrators, they will be charged with multiple articles in accordance with applicable laws.
