Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. In the tourist area of Amed, Karangasem, Bali, on Friday (22/3/2024), Singaraja immigration officials took action against a Russian tourist causing disturbance.
"We thank the public for reporting the case," said Hendra Setiawan, Head of Singaraja Immigration Office.
The tourist, identified as IK, allegedly repeatedly refused to pay for meals on local restaurant, spa services and insisted on staying at an accommodation in Amed without settling bills, as reported by antaranews.com.
Efforts to persuade IK to comply were met with resistance, prompting law enforcement officers to intervene.
The 51-year-old Russian woman entered Indonesia through Bali on a Visa on Arrival (VoA) for vacation purposes on 23 February 2023. Her residence permit is set to expire on 23 March 2024.
IK is currently undergoing examination at the Singaraja Immigration Office following her arrest.
Singaraja Immigration has deported six foreign nationals for violating immigration laws in January-February 2024.
