Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta The Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI) and the Copyright Bureau of South Korea signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Seoul on Tuesday to enhance copyright protection.
“This partnership is a significant step for both parties to strengthen joint efforts in investigating copyright crimes. We hope this cooperation will drive economic, social, and cultural progress in both countries,” Zelda Wulan Kartika, the Acting Chargé d'Affaires of the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul, said in a statement on Wednesday (11/9/2024).
Hyangmi Jung, the Director of South Korea’s Copyright Bureau, emphasized the need for cooperation due to the increasing ease of distributing illegal content internationally.
"Today marks an important milestone that demonstrates Indonesia and Korea's mutual trust in combating copyright violations together," she said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The collaboration focuses on tackling digital copyright violations, developing advanced monitoring systems, and sharing best practices.
“With better copyright protection, creators will feel safer and more motivated to innovate, ultimately benefiting society,” said Budi Hadisetyono, the DJKI’s Head of Complaints.
