President Prabowo Subianto welcomed the visit of Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei to follow up on a number of cooperation agreements between the two countries, such as the energy and housing sectors, on Thursday (1/30/2025).
Minister of Foreign Affairs (Menlu) Sugiono, after accompanying President Prabowo, said that the meeting was held to follow up on various cooperation agreements that already have a legal umbrella between the two countries, as a strategic step in strengthening the partnership between Indonesia and the UAE.
"He (Minister Suhail) came here to follow up on the agreements and follow the details of the developments," said the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Thursday (1/30/25).
The Minister of Foreign Affairs explained that this meeting was to ensure that the implementation of the cooperation runs according to the agreements that have been made.
The cooperation discussed covered a number of strategic sectors including energy and housing, as well as other sectors that are comprehensive.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono said that President Prabowo did not give specific instructions to his staff. However, the President emphasized the importance of implementing all agreements optimally and seeking immediate solutions if there are obstacles in their implementation.
"There is nothing special, but he asked us to implement all the agreements as well as possible. Then if there are problems, seek solutions as soon as possible," said the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
This visit reflects the increasingly close relationship between Indonesia and the UAE, as well as a shared commitment to creating mutually beneficial cooperation in various strategic fields.
Also accompanying the President at the meeting were Deputy Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas Fahri Hamzah, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Head of the Housing Task Force Hashim Djojohadikusumo.
Meanwhile, the UAE delegation who also attended with Minister Suhail was the UAE Ambassador to Indonesia Abdulla Salem AlDhaheri.
