Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Acting Director General of Regional Administration at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Amran, said on Sunday (8/9/2024) that the Indonesian government is committed to supporting smart city development by creating regulations.
"We are drafting a regulation from the Ministry of Home Affairs on urban management using a smart city approach," he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
To support this, Indonesia has fostered cooperation with South Korea in smart city development. Indonesia participated in the World Smart City Expo (WSCE) 2024 in Ilsan, South Korea, held from 2 to 6 September 2024.
During the event, business-to-business agreements were reached between Indonesian and South Korean private sectors.
"This is a great opportunity to collectively build the smart city concept," Amran added, expecting this collaboration will help accelerate the development of smart cities in Indonesia.
