Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Consulate General in Jeddah has called on Indonesian hajj pilgrims to adhere to security regulations outlined in the 2025 hajj Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Tuesday (14/1/2024) that pilgrims are required to follow all Saudi Arabian government rules, including those on movement within hajj sites and refraining from public prayer gatherings, loud displays, and unauthorized religious practices at Masjidil Haram and Masjid Nabawi Grand Mosques.
Pilgrims are also advised not to use photography devices or record videos that may compromise security. In addition, displaying political slogans, party flags, or sectarian messages is prohibited, as well as the use of social media for such purposes, according to antaranews.com.
The Indonesian Consultate General in Jeddah reminded pilgrims that only official hajj routes are recognized by the Saudi government.
The MoU signed on 13 January 2025 grants Indonesia a quota of 221,000 pilgrims for the 2025 season, along with 2,210 hajj officers. Unauthorized hajj types may lead to safety risks and legal penalties.
