Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said on Saturday (13/4/2024) that construction of Indonesia's longest elevated railway at Joglo intersection in Surakarta, Central Java, is on track for completion by September 2024.
He raised his confidence in the project's progress during an inspection, expecting it to finish as planned, according to antaranews.com. Part of the Solo-Semarang double tracks phase 1, the elevated railway spans 1.8 kilometers, addressing traffic congestion at the nearby level crossing. Minister Budi Karya  highlighted the railway's dual role, serving as both a solution to congestion and an iconic feature of Solo city. Its design will showcase local landmarks like Sidomukti batik and the royal palace. Inspector General Aan Suhanan, the Head of the Indonesian National Police (INP) Traffic Corps, emphasized the railway's potential to enhance traffic safety and reduce accidents at the Joglo intersection, known for congestion and accidents.
