Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief  General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and Chairman of  the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) Erick Thohir signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)  to create a fair and corruption-free football environment in Indonesia, with a particular focus on issues such as match-fixing. "Today, our nation's great aspiration to have clean and competitive football will be continuously pursued following the agreement between President Jokowi's government and FIFA President Gianni Infantino," said Chairman Erick on Wednesday (13/12/2023). The scope of the MoU between the INP and the PSSI includes data and information exchange, issuing permits for national football matches, security assistance, law enforcement, and the provision of information to the public, antaranews.com reported. "Both the INP chief and I agreed that there must be an independent task force to serve as a comprehensive oversight because in the agreement we have reached, FIFA and the government want to promote Indonesian football that is not negatively associated with match-fixing," he said. Meanwhile, the INP chief emphasized the need for law enforcement agencies to work together to create a clean and fair football environment in Indonesia. "In order to establish fair competition, we are willing to cooperate with both the Police's Football Mafia Task Force and the Independent Football Mafia Task Force in law enforcement to ensure that the football climate can really improve in the future," Sigit said. Initiated by the INP Chief, the INP and the PSSI have formed a task force,  to drive the transformation of Indonesian football. The Anti-Mafia Football Task Force is led by Maruarar Sirait, whose members include journalist Najwa Shihab, former the Development Finance Comptroller (BPKP) chief Ardan Adipermana and Save Our Soccer (SOS) coordinator Akmal Marhali.
