Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said the INP is open to receiving input from any party regarding the controversial death of Ministry of Foreign Affairs diplomat Arya Daru Pangayunan.
His statement followed public appeals from Arya’s family for justice and clarity.
“In principle, the INP is open to input from anyone,” Chief Sigit told reporters in Jakarta on Tuesday (26/8/2025).
He added that the openness extends to involving external parties to ensure full transparency in the investigation.
“This is so the case can be completely clear, revealed, and scientifically accountable, leaving no doubt for the victim’s family and the public,” Chief Sigit said, as quoted by antaranews.com
Arya, 37, was found dead with duct tape wrapped around his head at a guesthouse in Menteng, Central Jakarta, on 8 July 2025. While Metro Jaya Police concluded there was no foul play, Arya’s family has raised concerns about inconsistencies, including his still-active social media accounts and a mysterious envelope sent to them.
