inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and the Governor of Yogyakarta plants corn seeds in Klaras Village, Canden, Jetis, Bantul, Yogyakarta.
This activity is part of the effort from the INP Task force to support the food security program.
The joint corn planting was carried out on idle land that will be converted into productive land to support national food security.
“Today, together with the locals and farmer groups in Kralas Village, Bantul Regency, we are planting the corn seeds,” says INP Chief, on Saturday (2/15/2025).
General Sigit hopes that their hard work in sowing the land can produce a quality harvest as the state aims to not import any corn in 2025.
Furthermore, he noted that it is important to improve corn drying facilities so that the quality of the harvest is better and can be absorbed at a price that is profitable for farmers.
"We hope that this effort can improve the welfare of farmers and support the growth of the village economy. In addition, this program is also expected to support the need for animal feed, so that the price of feed is more affordable and the quality of animal nutrition is better," said the Chief of Police.
This activity received a positive response from farmers and stakeholders in the region. It is hoped that with this program, Indonesia can realize corn self-sufficiency and reduce dependence on imports in the next few years.
