Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. In a significant move, the Indonesian National Police (Polri) has instituted an age limit for personnel involved in the Mantap Brata Operation during the 2023-2024 period, aimed at securing the 2024 elections.
"The maximum age for personnel is 50 years,"said Inspector General Sandi Nugroho, the INP Head of Public Relations Division, in his statement on Friday (29/9/2023)
This decision was a direct response to the challenges faced during the evaluation of the 2019 election security, where, as the Chief Spokesperson stated, "Quite a few INP personnel who were on duty fell ill, and some even lost their lives."
The age limit decision was seen as the INP's commitment to improving performance and ensuring the safety of personnel during the upcoming 2024 elections.
Inspector General Dr. Dedi Prasetyo, the Assistant Chief of Police for Human Resources, has highlighted the importance of age and health criteria for personnel involved in election security.
"ASDM emphasized that, if possible, younger INP members should be designated as primary officers for the 2024 elections," General Sandi said, referring to the INP move to ensuring a safe and efficient electoral process for the 2024 elections.
