Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP)'s Anti-Mafia Soccer Task Force has announced the likelihood of new suspects emerging in the ongoing match-fixing investigation.
"There will definitely be new suspects in this case," Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri, the Head of the Task Force, emphasizing that the probe, which began with the identification of six suspects linked to a League 3 match in November 2018, will continue to expand.
He highlighted that these potential new suspects may include individuals with higher positions and possibly other football clubs. The investigation was expected to uncover additional details as it progresses.
"There are intermediaries and higher-ups who will be implicated in this case. It is possible that other clubs may be involved. It depends on the results of the investigation and the development of the case," General Edi said.
The Task Force had identified six individuals as suspects in a match-fixing case within the League 2 competitions in 2018. (mg/bg/pr/nm)
