Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) is set to send 26 police personnel, consisting of a medial team, a disaster victim identification (DVI) team and a K9 team to Turkey and Syria to assist with the disaster management, Head of Security Maintenance Board Commissioner General Arief Sulistyanto said on Thursday (9/2/23).
The medical team consists of three general practitioners, one orthopedic specialist, one anesthesiologist, and six expert nurses while the DVI team consists of three ontology specialists, one forensic specialist, and one expert nurse. The K9 team consists of 2 dogs and their 4 handlers.
“I have checked the preparation of the personnel, the technical equipment, and the personal equipment this morning. Since the temperature there is minus 9 degrees, we have to prepare personal equipment to survive in the cold weather,” the general said at the INP Headquarters in Jakarta.
The K9 dogs are familiar with low temperatures, however, the team is equipped with warm clothes and pillows to increase the strength of the canine, he added.
“It is INP’s immediate response to the disasters in Turkey and Syria, and (INP is) ready to assist with humanitarian aid,” he concluded.
