President Joko Widodo inaugurates the opening of International Football Federation (FIFA) office in Jakarta. “The decision of FIFA to establish their permanent Asia-hub office in Jakarta proves that Indonesia has huge potential in developing and pushing our football to international level,” says Jokowi on Friday (11/10/2023). To FIFA President Gianni Infantino, Jokowi affirm the commitment of Indonesia in supporting and facilitating FIFA on improving the integrity and quality of Indonesian football. Jokowi also stressed Indonesia readiness in improving sports infrastructure that is adequate, while also train the young athletes of Indonesia. “On this occasion, I want to say my highest gratitude to FIFA for their trust, support and commitment for Indonesian football,” thanked Jokowi. He hopes that the presence of FIFA in Jakarta could be the first important step for Indonesian football in achieving prestigious achievements and improving its competition quality, while inspiring youths. “I hope this could also be the first step for FIFA in holding more events in Indonesia,” adds Jokowi.
